letter of appreciation
The Chief Executive Officer,
Urban Development Bank PLC,
Abuja, Nigeria.
Dear Sir or Madam,
Letter of Appreciation for the Ewaise Urban Renewal Plan.
Rising from its general meeting in Benin City on Sunday 22 July, 2007, the Benin National Congress, a pan Benin socio-cultural organization resolved to formally appreciate the interest of the Urban Development Bank PLC (in collaboration with Oredo Local Govt. Council) in enhancing the infrastructures and services qualities of Ewaise community (the most commercial part of Benin City-Akpakpava St., Mission Rd, King’s Square) which is host to Most financial Institutions in Benin City.
We note with joy the very rare gesture which in our opinion is a significant culture of responsibility and corporate governance that deserves appreciation and support by the benefiting community. This attitude is a very “scarce commodity” in view of the lean social responsibilities of corporate institutions so far expressed in the country. This Program has the capacity of broadening the investment climate of Benin nation particularly and Edo State in general if implemented and at the same time increasing job opportunities for majority of our universities graduates whom are currently roaming the streets of Benin.
The Congress also acknowledged the steadfastness on the part of the Oredo Local Government Council, which provided the necessary morale and logistic support for the realization of this noble feat. We seize this opportunity to challenge other Local Government Councils whose major interests is the collection of Revenue allocation and its near-wasteful expenditure. Other Local councils should wake up from their slumber by seeking ways to broaden the investment opportunities that abounds for the good of their native people particularly and the public in general.
The primary purpose of this appreciation is to emphasize the need to ensure its timely execution as time is of essence. No matter how novel an idea may be, its timely execution would save its targeted beneficiaries of the burden of its unavailability. We pledge the support of Benin Youths, to the security and good neighborliness of this golden project and the Bank.
We watch closely.
Elder Owenaze Guobadia - Chief Welfare Officer.
